Tasks:
Accounting & financial management
- Management and maintenance of financial accounting incl. general ledger and reconciliations
 - Processing accounts receivable and accounts payable
 - Proper and timely recording of all business transactions in accordance with German commercial law (HGB)
 - Review of payroll accounting for German employees
 - Coordination with property management regarding rental income, operating costs and capital expenditure
 - Ensuring the correct accounting of intra-group service relationships
 - Cooperation with property managers, the legal department and external auditors to ensure correct annual financial statements
 
Value added tax (VAT) & tax obligations
- Preparation and timely submission of advance VAT returns in accordance with German regulations
 - Checking the VAT treatment of invoices and transactions
 
Reporting & communication with the UK headquarters
- Support in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports for the UK parent company
 - Maintaining smooth and transparent communication between the German finance function and the UK finance team
 
Profile:
- Completed studies in accounting, finance or a comparable qualification
 - Several years of professional experience in accounting, in particular in the areas of VAT, payroll accounting and reporting in accordance with German law
 - Very good knowledge of German accounting (HGB) and tax regulations
 - Fluent in German and English (written and spoken)
 - Experience in working with international companies, ideally with British parent companies
 - Confident handling of accounting software (e.g. IX-Haus, DATEV or similar)
 - High affinity for numbers, analytical thinking and an independent, structured way of working
